Gingerbread Latte


Your healthy drink for Christmas time!

Cold days cry for cozy afternoons with a gingerbread latte! This latte is a healthy version of the common drinks which contain lots of sugar and whipped cream on top. I created this healthy and vegan gingerbread latte so we can all enjoy a Christmas drink without feeling too guilty or too heavy afterward. I really cannot imagine any holiday season without this creamy and special drink. If you want to have this latte even more creamy, you can add some vegan whipped cream to the milk foam. I love to use soy or rice whip, it is actually really light and not too fat. Try it out and let me know what you think!

The easiest gingerbread syrup!

The recipe for this healthy and vegan syrup contains only 3 ingredients! What I think makes this gingerbread latte so special is the homemade gingerbread spice. Of course, you can buy one at the store, but I highly recommend making your own with this simple recipe. Other than the spice you need some plant milk and a little bit of agave syrup or maple syrup to make this drink a sweet treat.

Be your own barista!

You don’t need to be a top barista to prepare this homemade gingerbread latte! All you need is black coffee, the spice, some syrup and either some hot milk or some milk foam. I love milk foam for my latte, but if you don’t have a special machine that makes foam, some hot milk does more or less the same. Add some whipped cream to it and your creamy latte is at your service.

Ingredients

For the syrup

  • 0,5 tsp gingerbread spice
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup
  • 50 ml plant milk cold

For the latte

  • 150 ml black coffee hot
  • 150 ml plant milk soy, oat or coconut

Instructions

For the syrup

  • Mix together all of the ingredients into one cup

For the latte

  • Pour black coffee into your cup
  • Mix the coffee and the syrup well
  • Heat up the plant milk or make some milk foam out of it and pour it to your coffee
  • Serve your latte with some vegan whipped cream (rice, coconut or soy) or spread some cinnamon and or cocoa powder on top of it
