Make your own crunchy chocolate muesli with just a few easy steps!
Here in this post, I will show you how you can easily make your own chocolate muesli – a healthy and vegan version that tastes at least as good as that from the supermarket!
For me, this muesli has been a great breakfast for several years now. I usually make twice the amount (sometimes even three times as much) so that my family and I are well prepared. I really appreciate having a healthy and quick breakfast, especially on stressful days. Usually, we just don’t have enough time or desire to cook something big in the morning, which makes the muesli is ideal for such mornings. And who voluntarily says no to chocolate in the morning? 😉
Here is a little note about the recipe: The recipe is for about 860g of muesli, in this case it is enough for a family of 4-5 people in which there are about 3 servings per person. If you only make the muesli for yourself or for two, you can only use half of the ingredients and therefore produce less muesli. The muesli stays fresh for a long time in an airtight container (approx. 1 month).
So easy to prepare
For this vegan chocolate muesli, you only have to cut the dates into small pieces, and simply put all the other ingredients in a bowl and mix them together. How big or small you want to chop/cut the dates is entirely up to you. The smaller they are, the more “crunchy” they are baked in the oven. If you don’t like raisins, you can replace them with cranberries or with more dates. Sour cherries would also go well with it, but they are quite expensive and in my eyes a luxury that I can do without here.
Your healthy breakfast
I tried to omit the sugar and replace it with natural ingredients such as raisins and dates. Since it is not always enough and some are used to a sweet breakfast, I finally added some sugar in the form of coconut blossom sugar to the muesli. It is up to you whether you want to leave it out or use only half of the sugar. Otherwise, the vegan chocolate muesli is also oil-free and filled with fiber and important minerals. The main ingredients rolled oats are super healthy, they contain important vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants!

Make your own chocolate muesli!
- 250 g rolled oats
- 50 g puffed millet
- 50 g puffed quinoa
- 30 g flaxseeds ground
- 150 g raisins
- 150 g dates pitted
- 80 g raw cocoa powder unsweetened
- 3 tbsp cinnamon
- 50 g nuts (almonds, walnuts or hazelnut) ground
- 50 g coconut blossom sugar or raw cane sugar
- Cut or chop the dates into small pieces
- Put all ingredients (including dates) in a bowl and mix them very well together
- Spread the muesli on two baking sheets lined with baking paper
- Bake the chocolate muesli in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 10 minutes. Don't forget to stir (about 1-2 times) so that the muesli doesn't burn!
